Sewing like Mad....

I have finished 20 Coffee Cozies...it's been non stop sewing for three solid days...I've had several orders to fill so this first 20 will be gone fast...I am loving making these cozies I think the best part is color coordinating the fronts and backs and then the buttons....the buttons are soooooo much fun!!!....my sewing room is a total creative mess...

My Newest Creation...

And by creation I mean obsession....I have been sewing non stop since I found out how fun and easy these Coffee Cozies are to make...they keep your hand cool while holding the hot beverage and lets face it they are soooo much cuter then those cardboard ones....I have some for sale if anyone is interested...

Has it really been 7 months....

Gosh it's hard to believe it's been 7 whole months since I last blogged...busy much??? oh yes I have been...I've made a few quilts and learned to make cute pouches with zippers...yes I said zippers...I've been zipper challenged for many years but I am happy to report I am no longer challenged in that area...well I am happy to be back and I will be posting some pictures of my creations over these months...

Why Oh Why??????.....

Why in the world can I NOT get the hang of crocheting?..I am desperate to get this down pat...Thankfully I have a very patient gal that is teaching me how and let me tell you she has the Patience of Job because I am a handful with this newest project...it all started because I kept seeing cute Granny squares on my pinterest news feed...so I got the brilliant idea to drag out all my old crocheting needles and yarn ( yes, there was another time I lost my mind and thought I wanted to learn how) so here I am trying my darndest to just learn this simple thing...ok so as your looking at the picture of those little darlins your probably thinking those aren't too bad for a beginner...well let me tell you those three squares took me 2 and a half weeks to complete...I can make at least a couple table runners in that amount of time...well the thing about me is I am stubborn and I WILL get this..

I am as bad with yarn stashing as I am with Fabric...TeeHee!

Heat Wave.....

Today was 109 degrees out and I was about to melt...I have a few mini charm packs and really have never done a thing with them...I'm not sure if it's because they are so cute or they are so small I had no idea what to make...well today I grabbed one out of my basket ( Scrumptious by Bonnie and Camille for Moda) and decided to make a table runner...I'm quiet pleased with the squares so far...I still have the sash to work on and the border...but this is the project so far....

Busy as a Bee!!!....

It's that time of year when busy takes a whole new meaning...I don't have children in school we no longer have a dance recital at the end of the season so why is the month of May and June so crazy for me?...Birthdays...last Friday was my Grandson's 2nd Birthday ,Monday was my Nephews Birthday Wednesday was my Daughters and today is my Son's...celebrating is so much fun...plus this week our dear friends from Illinois is here with their kids and we love seeing them and spending as much time with them as we can...it's been almost 6 years since we seen them...I think we are off to a great summer so far and I refuse to let the heat make me the least bit cranky....well maybe just a little cranky...I am off to play...

Praire Point Obsession....

My new and favorite little detail has now become my latest obsession...Praire Points I want to put them on every thing...these little tea towels take me about 30 min to put together and besides making pillow cases this has become a new favorite...
