Smelly Towels....

I have had it with smelly towels that are brand new and smelly dish towels that are fresh from the dryer...I bought new towels to replace the ones I had because the older ones got a sour smell to them I just could not wash out no matter what I used and I used some of the best smelling laundry soap I could find...still after drying off one time they would get sour smelling to me.....soooooo annoying....last week while I was over at  Aunt Ruthie's Sugar Pie Farmhouse web site  Aunt Ruthie had posted how she was having the same problem and she shared the concoction for making up her own Laundry soap (powered) so I made up the list and hit Walmart for all my ingredients I whipped up a big batch last night then I proceded to collect all the dirty towels I could find and get to washing them up and see if this was indeed the solution to my stinky towel problem...I will be trying them out as I just pulled from the dryer some of the sweetest smelling towels ever...the test will be if they stay that way after they get wet one time...along with grated soap I used Kirks Castile soap and Arm and Hammer washing soda, Borax, and Arm and Hammer soda I don't see how they could possibly NOT smell fabulous...and to top it off I found the cutest little heart shaped scoop I think that will make all the difference...ha!

New Year...New Quilts...

Marmalade

Nonie's Quilt
This has been a very fun week I've been able to sew a lot I finished piecing 2 quilt tops one is a Table runner the other is a Quilt for Nonie's house...you heard right I have not made a nice quilt for my house and as often as Kaitlyn is over it's a shame to not have a nice warm cozy homemade quilt to wrap up in...so I decided to make one for my house so when the Grandbabies are over they can use it...both designs are the easy 9 patch...and I love the colors...today I started piecing a Valentine Chevron design quilt...I am loving pink lately so this was a perfect little charm pack I've had for sometime...pinks reds and white...I will of course post pictures when I'm done with it...so far this New Year I have gotten to be with My sewing machine a LOT!

The End....

I am always so sad when another Bible Study comes to an end but this is our last week for "A woman's heart God's dwelling place" by Beth Moore....what an incredible journey this has been I have learned brand new things about My Lord Jesus and I will treasure this one deeply as I have so many others but for some reason this one really touched me deep...I think it is because the study was on the Tabernacle and I really never knew a lot about that...one of the most precious things I came away with is The Lord wants to be in constant communication with me so much so that God had Moses and the Israelites build a dwelling place (the Ark of The Covenant) so He would be with His people all the time as they traveled through the wilderness...once He sent His only Son we now have Him dwelling in our Hearts at all times...I will never forget this study and ALL that the Lord showed me through it...

Clutter...Clutter..Clutter..

Fabric Stash...

Just Stuff...

Cutting Area..
This morning I woke up really ready to get back to some sewing, Sunday I had hit up JoAnn's and got me a big mat and some other fun things to use and I was looking forward to trying them all out I have a few UFO's I wanted to finish and get posted to my Etsy Store but then as I was half way into my projects I got super cranky...and the reason is my sewing room and all my supplies etc.. are so cluttered I can't even stand looking at the room, which by the way is my favorite room,...I stepped back trying to figure it all out and then I was looking at my Fabric stash, my cutting mat area and just the room in general and it hit me in the Eyes...CLUTTER Everywhere...so guess what I will be doing today instead of sewing?...thats right organizing and cleaning and straightening this all out....

a few little Handmade things...

I have been so busy getting my Etsy store ready to open that I've been very anxious. I hate that rushed feeling especially when it comes to my Crafts, because thats the one area I want to slow down and enjoy not hurry and fret....so I picked up a book this week from Beverly's titled "Hexa go go" it answered all my questions on how to make those cute little hexagon's and let me tell you once you master the craft there is nothing you want to do more then sit and make those little things all day long....I also started some embroidery work that I am going to start incorporating into my quilts and once again another craft that is so relaxful I can do both my needle works watching TV....
