Sew Where Ever....

About a month ago we had a pretty big flood in our home (over flowing master bathroom) that is a whole other story...our bedroom stuff got shoved into one of the extra bedrooms actually my sewing room while our home is under construction we are in the middle of a remodel now...WHEW! as much as I know I will love this when it's done right now I am feeling a bit disgruntled because I need to sew badly like I need water or food...so this morning I set up my sewing area at the kitchen table and ya know what?...I am not so disgruntled my cranky is now over and I am happy in my sewing area just me and the humming of my Machine...it's the little things isn't it?...

The Cotton Ball...

There is the cutest most quaint little quilt shop on the central west coast called The Cotton Ball I try and get over there every time were at the coast which is often....I've been shopping here for several years now, the shop used to be in the most darling place in the center of town in Morro Bay but about 3 years ago they moved the store to a corner on Main Street and in that move something was lost the quaintness of the little shop sort of got lost as happens when a move takes place...it made no difference to me I still loved shopping and buying yardage of fabric or charm packs or fat quarters...well this year I heard my little Quilt Shop was up for sale and it has just broken my heart to see it possibly come to an end...I was in the shop this last Saturday and the bolts of fabric were down to bare minimum and I have even heard the doors may shut if no one buys her...something about a Quilt Shop closing there doors just saddens me...I am Praying some wonderful quilting woman steps in and buys her up and the little shop can live on and on.....
Pretty Little Bundles...

I got these darling little bundles while I was there this last time...aren't they cute? I can't wait to make a table top quilt with them...

Beauty!!!

My Husband and I have a nice little place at the coast we love to go and visit when the weather gets so hot here that we just have to escape...we get to our place and all the stresses of the week before just kind of disappear, we sleep good and we relax easily...this is where we go as often in a month  as we can....something about being there makes us want to be healthy, there are Farmers Markets all over the place with fresh produce the fish is fresh and the air is so clean...we hike and bike and walk every where we go...there are at least 3 really nice quilt shops in the area and of course I visit them when were in town...we call this "Home away from Home"...

Keeping My head above water...

Where do I even start...3 weeks ago I began working from home I've been in the process for awhile now of getting things in my Home ready for me to be able to work 2 days out of the week from the comfort and quiet of Home...Well I guess you could say I sure am glad that 3 weeks ago I was home because had I not been home my house would have floated away...I was watering my front yard with my little sprinkler My Husband came home from our office for lunch and I turned the water off prior to his arrival...he ate and visited with me and then about an hour later left the house...about 2 min after he left I realized I turned the water off but was still hearing water running somewhere and then it dawned on me , we had been having issues with our Master Bathroom toilet water getting stuck and running we were always here to catch it before it became a problem until 3 weeks ago this Tuesday...as I freaked out in my mind and went running down my hallway I got a little over half way and felt the squish of water...Yep my room and bathroom were under about 4-5 inches of water...My Husband quickly returned to our house and called the Insurance Company that have been so great at getting everything  under control...it is a long process in an older home as they have to make sure the inner walls are not damaged ...I have large holes drilled into the base of the walls in our room and bathroom...water damage was so bad the whole house is getting new carpet...keep in mind I have a Bible Study in my home every Monday evening and since the front room, kitchen and front Bathroom are not effected we have carried on with our study as if nothing else matters because it really doesn't....to top it off my sweet dear neighbors brought over a delicious box of apricots fresh picked from their tree so in the middle of water damage I got to stop and do what I love doing and that is make Jam...I guess you could say instead of making lemonade out of lemons I made Jam out of Apricots...all the same I am not going to let this effect my attitude in the least little bit...I am blessed with the best Girlfriends that said to me lets just keep doing our Bible Study anyway because a messy home makes us feel at home...since I am not able to quilt right now at least I am able to make some Jam, I even froze two big freezer bags of Apricots all ready for another day of Jam making...
